| Printer Problems
A few older HP printers might have trouble printing
because of a bad HP driver. This behavior is easily remedied by doing
the following:
1. In your Windows directory, you will find a file
with a name similar to HPFDJC05.INI. This is the initialization file of
the HP driver. This file needs to be repaired.
2. Reinstall the Printer drivers for the printer. We
suggest that you download the latest version of the driver for your
printer from the HP web site. (This will update the INI file, so you
will be able to recognize it by date in Windows Explorer.)
3. Start up NCSS and go to the spreadsheet. While
looking at the NCSS spreadsheet, choose Edit and then Options.
4. Choose the Constants tab.
5. Type the name of your INI file in the HP 820 Printer
File Name box. 6. Quit NCSS.
7. Start NCSS back up. The printer should now work.
How it works.
The printer apparently sends instructions back to the driver program to
put it in debug mod. To overcome this, we make a backup copy of the
driver file as NCSS starts. When NCSS quits, it replaces the existing
copy of the INI file with this backup copy. Any changes that have been
made are replaced.
We have reported this problem to HP.
